Hosanna to Hallelujah Geoff Stilwell & Alison Marr C F G C Jerusalem was jubilant F C G People lined the way C F C F As Jesus rode a donkey C G C Before him palms they lay F "Hosanna!" they all shouted C G "Please help us Lord, today C F Liberate and save us C G C Oh Jesus this we pray." C F G C The twelve sat down at table F C G They shared the bread and wine C F C F And Jesus told them what would come, C G C Said this would be a sign F "But Master!" they all shouted C G "We could not betray you C F Nor deny You, nor forsake you C G C We will all stay true." C F G C Later in Gethsemane F C G Jesus knelt to pray C F C F "This cup will not be taken C G C Your will be done this day." F But nothing did they utter C G Asleep upon the ground C F And when Jesus was taken C G C No-one could be found C F G C The priests and soldiers took him F C G They said the law allowed C F C F Blasphemers to be crucified C G C Jesus stood before the crowd F "Crucify!" they shouted C G "Crucify Him now! C F Free to us Barabbas C G C This man we disavow." C F G C Jesus was nailed upon the cross F C G A man so free from blame C F C F The son of God is dying there C G C To free us all from shame F And He cried out "Forgive them, C G They know not what they do." C F "It is finished now. My work is done. C G C I can return to you." C F G C The women found an open tomb F C G Jesus risen from the grave C F C F Our God had died in place of us C G C His purpose for to save F And we all shout "Hallelujah C G Let Hallelujahs ring C F Praise to the Lord Almighty C G C Our humble saving king."
